• there are a lot of philosophies (Stoicism) that preach to never have high expectations and in some way from my experience I’ve noticed that it could be for the better but at the same time, there’s a lot of benefit to being someone who is extremely optimistic and with that comes high expectations.
  • Elon Musk is known for being extremely optimistic and this is partially how he got to where he is right now
  • I also see that in my life sometimes where my optimism and high expectations get me to do the act and because I got myself to do the ACT I was rewarded. Of course that doesn’t work out all the time. When it does it does and as I have mentioned several times my goal for 2025 is to fail more, which means that I need to do more and ask more and for me to get and have the highest chances of winning in these situations. I need to have some level of expectation for myself and for others for myself to be optimistic enough about the situation to be able to push myself to do the thing
  • I know there is a philosophy, it might be stoicism but they have a word for basically being carefully optimistic.
