Reflections on My Travels and Purpose
I was recently browsing through my friend’s Instagram stories. They’re off traveling and living what many would consider a dream life. Some people might feel a pang of jealousy or envy, wishing to be in their position, but honestly, I didn’t feel that way. I don’t put much emphasis on traveling; it’s not that I don’t enjoy it, I love exploring new places, but it’s just not a priority for me.
Meaningful Pursuits
What truly matters to me is being part of something bigger than myself, doing something meaningful. This could be a deep relationship or creating something tangible like a project or software. The main things I care about are building something useful that others can benefit from and forming meaningful relationships.
Community and Purpose
Community, purpose, love, and connection are what drive me. Whether it’s bonding with people, especially forming a deep connection with someone special, or working towards a significant goal in my life, these are my core desires. I can’t stress this enough; this is all I want.
Challenges and Time Management
The challenge, however, is that despite my efforts, I’m not achieving these goals this summer. I need to manage my time better to optimize for these two pillars—community and purpose. I often find myself prioritizing short-term rewards over these long-term goals. I need to evaluate what actions enhance the likelihood of achieving these pillars in my daily life and focus on those.
Self-Understanding
While understanding and knowing myself may not directly align with my core goals, they are indirectly beneficial. By understanding myself better, I can align my actions with what truly matters and hopefully increase my chances of success in building meaningful relationships and fulfilling my Purpose.
