this is the biggest thing I’ve learned in my trip to Italy.
Night 0, I arrive at 2am to the old man giving me a place to live (couchsurfing)
He opened the door for me, told me where the toilet, kitchen, bedroom is at. Then he went straight to his bed. We didn’t talk whatsoever. Bro got so much trust in me, couchsurfers, humanity.
Day 1 morning, we have breakfast together. He makes coffee for me, and I eat 3 bread (toast) With jam. Yes Mama I eat jam now
Day 2 morning, same thing but this time with his girlfriend who’s just as kind hearted.
He asked if I had any dietary restrictions. Then at around 13:30 I had amazing lunch.
Night 2, I meet with my couchsurfing host in Bolzano and the stories he shared… Just shows how much he trusts in humanity. Bro doesn’t mind welcoming 3 other people into his king sized bed. Give keys to strangers
Day 3, wakes up with me at 6. Hug n say goodbye
Devil’s advocate
while ofc there are bad people in this world who take advantage of you n shit, that doesn’t mean you should stop yourself from spreading love and kindness around the world.
But it’s very crucial to have this muscle of being able to detect and see through people who wanna do bad
Conclusion
My (grand)parents, Uncle kinda don’t see the whole picture. They just focus on the negative and forget bout the beauty in most other people
it’s like they have one eye only. The other one has unfortunately rotten. This trip helped me keep that other eye free of rot
