  • and it’s partly because of our awareness of time which also helped us reach to the Moon and survive famines

  • think of the time where your holiday was coming to an end

    • we naturally start feeling sad. I’d rather than being happy that you’re still in your holidays and that is because we have a deep sense of awareness of time
    • The same can be applied to Sundays before the start of your school day or work day
  • so as you can see once we think of the future or the past we start feeling negative emotions

    • future = hopelessness
    • past = regrets
  • Enter the internet, a one-way ticket to avoid thinking about the present or future

    • this is why doomscrolling feels good - because it stops you from thinking about past and future and puts you into the present
      • we lose the dimension of time (a.k.a be in the now) and that is very addicting
  • other things that bring us to the now include:

  • Behavioral activation and inhibition therapy

    • trains us to act without hope. Because action leads to hope
      • probably because we put some time into it, so we want it to work out🤷‍♂️🤔
    • this is the key to overcoming depression
