1. What were your main objectives for this activity?

At first it was get as many people to join the waitlist but once I learned that I could not share a QR code in the feedback form, it shifted to me being able to explain the project clearly to get people at least interested in approaching me and having a conversation about it.

  1. What do you think you did well in this activity?

Being very calm, because sometimes I would get too excited and that nervous energy would take over me.

  1. What do you think needs improvement in this activity?

As a student mentioned, it would have been better to make it more of a conversation, so the listener would be able to interrupt me or ask clarification Qs.

  1. What are the key points of feedback you received from your instructor, TAs, or peers?

Moving too much… I’m too used to presentations where I move around my space. Need to train on talking for a long time while not moving

Eye contact is something I’m not the best at, especially when speaking. I only do it when listening.

  1. Do you agree or disagree with the feedback you got? Explain why.

Agree. I noticed them myself except for 2 of them:

  • Moving too much (not self-aware)
  • Sounding robotic (I did?? I was improvising my speech so nothing was scripted word for word)
  1. Based on this experience, what specific goal(s) will you set for your next activity?
  • eye contact with a few of the audience
  • More interactive
  • Introduce myself more, my background
  • use more storytelling to evoke emotion, especially to talk about myself
