- What were your main objectives for this activity?
At first it was get as many people to join the waitlist but once I learned that I could not share a QR code in the feedback form, it shifted to me being able to explain the project clearly to get people at least interested in approaching me and having a conversation about it.
- What do you think you did well in this activity?
Being very calm, because sometimes I would get too excited and that nervous energy would take over me.
- What do you think needs improvement in this activity?
As a student mentioned, it would have been better to make it more of a conversation, so the listener would be able to interrupt me or ask clarification Qs.
- What are the key points of feedback you received from your instructor, TAs, or peers?
Moving too much… I’m too used to presentations where I move around my space. Need to train on talking for a long time while not moving
Eye contact is something I’m not the best at, especially when speaking. I only do it when listening.
- Do you agree or disagree with the feedback you got? Explain why.
Agree. I noticed them myself except for 2 of them:
- Moving too much (not self-aware)
- Sounding robotic (I did?? I was improvising my speech so nothing was scripted word for word)
- Based on this experience, what specific goal(s) will you set for your next activity?
- eye contact with a few of the audience
- More interactive
- Introduce myself more, my background
- use more storytelling to evoke emotion, especially to talk about myself
