after testing the idea in Hack The North, this is what I ended up moving to: autonomous crm idea
Overview
A system designed to help students and young professionals:
- spark authentic conversations without pulling people away from face-to-face connection
- A highly proactive memory vault to remember these interactions you have everyday
- find meaningful connections between you and your friends and also between your friends
How It Could Work
- Quick Start
- Scan a QR code from the phone or tap NFC card
- connect platforms like Goodreads, Spotify, YouTube, Letterboxd, instagram, X/Twitter, etc…
- There’s also the step of explaining it to your friend
- They can add more information later like:
- Where they’ve traveled, lived in
- hobbies, interests, dish, etc…
- Personalized Prompts
- AI generates hyper-personalized questions for both users based on 2 things:
- what the AI knows about you and
- the context of where is this interaction happening and how close these 2 people are. e.g.
- just met in orientation,
- sitting with a stranger in the dining hall
- friends taking a break from studying
- friends who have some freetime between their class
- first uni club event. e.g. bouldering club
- party
- transit
- before class waiting for professor
- first date
- AI generates hyper-personalized questions for both users based on 2 things:
- Conversation Assist
- The AI transcribes the conversation locally and in real-time update list of conversations
- One-tap shuffle for a new conversation topic
- Designed to minimize screen time → the platform is there just to provide a spark and keep the conversation interesting, not a distraction
- Memory vault of everyone you know & Follow-Up
- System saves the conversation and shows a graph of yourself and all your friends
- you can see how you and your friends connect. e.g. you both like basketball so the basketball entity would be connected to both of us
- you can see how your friends connect with each other. e.g. Both my friends Toby and Nick are part of the entrepreneurship club. So the system would recommend setting up a hangout with them or joining the club https://devpost.com/submit-to/16115-hack-the-north-2025/manage/submissions/792602/manage-teamub since you also enjoy entrepreneurship
- ideally this would be stored all locally and would be based on the conversations you have with people
- After the conversation: Ember can sometimes sends both users memory nuggets (e.g., “You both mentioned hiking before winter begins and you’ve been wanting to visit Kananaskis. Maybe setup a trip this Sunday with Alice and Nicole?”)
Similarities to Gigi (https://heygigi.ai/onboarding/tutorial)
- Step 2
Differences to Gigi
- Gigi is for the rich and an exclusive set of people
- Gigi makes invisible networks visible. I make invisible connections between 2 strangers visible
- What if I also should sell to the rich
Why this will not work
- It doesn’t solve the root problem
- This platform is most valuable for people who love talking to new people and love getting to know their friends more and diving deeper into their lives.
- For these people, is this really a need? Right now, it feels like a nice-to-have.
- So does that mean I should switch my target audience to people who want to meet with new people but don’t have the social skills for it?
