Tell us about yourself
I’m a true believer that bonding and connecting with people is the most important aspect of life. Forget the job opportunities and career advancements, it’s also about life satisfaction. That’s what life is all about in my opinion: The People and your ability to deeply connect with them. I am a recovering socially anxious/awkward person who struggled to value themselves. This mindset impacted every area of my life. I struggled to trust people and deeply bond with them. Thankfully, through learning about why I do things and how to change, how to become the person that I want to be, I learned so much about human nature and what it takes to connect with people. Now I want to share that wisdom with the world through content like YouTube videos and tech like apps. By me striving to reach my fullest potential, I inspire to bring out the best in the people around me. Which in turn will attract the right people in my life (mentors, partners, or friends)
“Everything that I’m doing is to help inspire students to make the best of their university experience”. I mention that during the interview I had with my university. More info:

Over this past year, I have spent over 800 hours working on 2 mobile apps: Exo and Orbit, and a couple hundred hours creating 25+ videos. These open-source apps and the community around them represent everything I stand for: using technology to reduce the barrier to human connection.
Now with GenAI and AI Agents, it’s unlocking a whole new dimension of consumer social that is growing and changing by the day. This is best demonstrated with series.so and boardy.ai

A fourth dimension to the world where you literally bump into the people who can transform your life
What’s the most impressive traction you have so far?
- My university reached out to me to write an article about me: https://news.ucalgary.ca/news/ucalgary-student-developing-app-help-foster-student-friendships
- They also did a video interview: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/ucalgary_ucalgary-ugcPost-7330605912832782337-0ggb

Anything else you’ve been thinking about working on?
Saving people time and helping people focus on what truly matters to them (AI agent automations. This could involve creating AI-powered tools that automate repetitive tasks, allowing people to dedicate more time and attention to their personal passions and connections with others). I’ve personally dabbled with tools that make it easier for us to get our thoughts and insights out of our head and into our knowledge base (I use Obsidian for note-taking). https://audiopen.ai/ and https://www.cleftnotes.com/ are 2 examples of what I’ve built but something more personalized and integrated with the user’s knowledge base.
I also love the word “investigating”. It excites me. Especially when it’s related to psychology, sociology, or technology and how it impacts us in our day-to-day. I love investigating people and deeply understanding them. We are all complex individuals striving to be understood. I believe that within each person is a universe waiting to be discovered. Through these connections, you can learn so much about yourself and teach others about themselves. That is the beauty of friendships, connections, and relationships. There is nothing more powerful than two people engaging in deep conversation and understanding each other’s universes. In my opinion, it is the most powerful force in the world, and I want to help unlock that for everyone, especially in university. I talk more about that in my Orbit manifesto: https://youtu.be/vaBTLpGfVQE
Of course, I don’t only love investigating people, but I also love investigating myself. This is why I journal and write down my thoughts everyday. It’s like my 2nd brain and is almost all public. You can look through my notes here: https://notes.rami-maalouf.tech

What convinced you to apply?
I discovered your YouTube channel almost a year ago, and found it absolutely crazy that I didn’t know these existed. Just a year ago, I had no idea all these things like Neo, ZFellows, Thiel, etc… existed. It started with me learning about you guys then slowly over the last few months I learned about the other accelerators/hacker houses in SF and around the world.
I slowly noticed how ‘different’ you guys were so when my friend (Izy) told me abt the off-season, I knew that I had to be a part of it.
