what have you accomplished so far in this endeavor? it’s completely ok to be just starting out!
- launched several consumer social products like:
- that failed. but through that process I learned so much. I recently started documenting these lessons in https://www.instagram.com/avoidingthetarpit
- After dozens of hours researching and reflecting on what went wrong and what is really needed to help reduce loneliness and increase belonging in our world. I decided to test out the idea of LinkMaxxing during a hackathon:
- All the 8 judges absolutely loved it, provided a lot of meaningful feedback, and encouraged me to continue building it. Didn’t win because the hackathon was for beginners and they focused on people who we’re first-time goers
- I’m currently in the process of investigating competitors, trying their platforms, and looking at their reviews to figure out what is the biggest painpoint right now in this space and which audience needs it most
- I’m also recruiting 8-10 people to join my team. I’ll be building it with people from my university who want to contribute to a meaningful project like LinkMaxxing. Never done hiring before. It’s very tedious, especially when you have 8 back-to-back interviews with no breaks in between😅 but I try to make them as enjoyable for both of us as possible
- The key insight in here is that people don’t struggle to find who to meet up with. Especially in places like in universities. There are several ways you can meet up with new people. Campus is filled with events. But the problem is people either:
- Don’t have the social confidence to put themselves in these situations, so they just stay home and not even bother.
- Or they don’t have the social skills and social intelligence to have good conversations with people that result in real, long-lasting connection
- A lot of these require hundreds of hours of work on yourself. But what if we can make the path to mastery easier. More effortless and smoothly integrated into people’s day to day lives
is this your full-time focus or primary pursuit? if not, what is preventing you from going all in (school, internship, job, family, confidence, etc)?
Taking 4 courses and working part-time as a teaching assistant. Right now I’m putting ~30hrs per week on my own ventures (including content creation). Starting December 8th, I will be done with my studies so I can go all in and work 60-80 hours/wk
