I have seen countless startups fail, and numerous founders and venture capitalists advising against building two apps that I have spent over 600 hours on (DM me for proof)

Even the one’s who succeed in this hopeless niche like Nikita Bier, the MJ of consumer social apps, once tweeted: “Never build an app to “meetup with friends.”.”

Well, Orbit, an open-source IRL consumer social app, is not exactly that so maybe we’re safe…

But I need your help

I can already envision a hundred ways Orbit could fall short, and these visions haunt me sometimes.

But I still hold on to that one powerful vision. The one where we manage to actually pull it off and empower every student to find and forge meaningful, lifelong connections.

Whether it’s through finding a friend who shares your ambitions or a partner who brings out the best in you.

But for this vision to turn into reality, I need every single one of you to engage in this post (reposts are immensely appreciated) so it can find the people who need Orbit most.

For more info on Orbit, you can find our manifesto🎬 and discord community in the links down below⬇️

We will be having our first user testing session on April 2nd 3pm at the fourth floor of the Hunter Student Commons(Hunter Hub) where you can come and give the app a try and, directly talk to me and the team. Join our Discord community for more details. Calendar invite can also be found⬇️

Lastly, a shoutout to Prof Christian Jacob for being my no.1 supporter and Nathaniel D’Orazio, Jessy Tseng, and Devon Tran for helping me build Orbit out

The one where we empower every student to find and forge meaningful, lifelong connections; whether it’s through finding a friend who shares your ambitions or a partner who brings out the best in you.

But for this vision to turn into reality, we need two things from you guys:
