Reflection on the Hunter Hub Event
I just returned from the Hunter Hub event, where my main objective was to approach the president and director of Hunter Hub to seek support for our venture. I also aimed to engage the marketing team to help us spread the word. I believe I successfully sparked their interest and excitement about Orbit. I felt I explained myself well, speaking quickly to convey my points effectively, given the limited time. I hope I was able to convince them and demonstrate the passion I have.
The pressure of the situation helped me speak clearly. I was comfortable in the environment, being around Nathaniel and doing push-ups on the floor just minutes before. I didn’t feel like an imposter, which is something I struggle with when talking to new people, especially those higher up in the hierarchy. But the director and president were approachable and kind, radiating positive energy, which I’ve noticed in previous meetups. This gave me confidence that they were listening and willing to help.
As I spoke, the clarity and effectiveness of my explanation boosted my confidence. I compared “Bumble for Friends” and our unique selling point effectively, managing to speak quickly while maintaining clarity. Although I was nervous, it didn’t hinder my ability to speak, a fact I’m proud of. In the end, the marketing person was interested in helping us, which is promising. Although he didn’t commit immediately, the initial rapport we established is a good start.
Showing my energetic side during the closing ceremony, where I won a $100 gift card, added to the positive impression. I accidentally placed my backpack next to the president and screamed with joy when celebrating, which might have resonated with him. I hope he saw the team player in me and my Purposeful nature.
Personal Goals and Observations
Right now, my goal is to make people see me for who I am. I believe I’m a unique individual doing unique things, and I want more people to notice that. It might sound selfish, but I need to capitalize on this for my own growth, for Orbit, and to positively impact those around me. If I can spread my message widely, I can help improve lives, aligning with my vision of winning together with those who follow me. That’s how I aim to live—a life where if I win, others win too, turning work into something meaningful.
As much as I want to focus on building things and doing deep work, I should consider outsourcing certain tasks, especially management duties that can be automated. My focus should be on what sets me apart—the content itself, not the editing.
I also want to be surrounded by people who share my vision and mission. Some friends live in ways I find sad, reminding me of my father’s lifestyle. He’s caught in a routine of scrolling through TikTok, working, and playing basketball without proper attention to family, a pattern I see in many people.
