for CalHacks, we built something impactful that can “help” blind people
-
I was not too motivated to work on this project, despite theoretically being impactful. I think there are quite a few reasons for that. Let’s dig in:
- The problem and solution was not validated
- would it actually help blind people? The idea is so cool and innovative but what’s the point of that if it has no value
- my teammates didn’t seem to be intrinsically motivated. I didn’t see any passion in them. They tried to find reasons not to work
- The problem and solution was not validated
-
I had to find external reasons like:
- winning
- learning something new so I can apply it to things that truly mean something to me
- basically means to another end
-
This gives me more faith in what I’m building right now. motivates me to double down on them because I have more confidence that these are the right things to put my time on
