• for CalHacks, we built something impactful that can “help” blind people

  • I was not too motivated to work on this project, despite theoretically being impactful. I think there are quite a few reasons for that. Let’s dig in:

    • The problem and solution was not validated
      • would it actually help blind people? The idea is so cool and innovative but what’s the point of that if it has no value
      • my teammates didn’t seem to be intrinsically motivated. I didn’t see any passion in them. They tried to find reasons not to work
  • I had to find external reasons like:

    • winning
    • learning something new so I can apply it to things that truly mean something to me
    • basically means to another end
  • This gives me more faith in what I’m building right now. motivates me to double down on them because I have more confidence that these are the right things to put my time on
