Made me miss Calgary and it’s cute vibes. For the first time ever, I’m in a place where people smile at me before I even get to smile at them.
Made me realize that, though I love hustling, I think I still prefer a chill city that is laid back, genuinely friendly, and seems to be grateful for living in there. Even homeless people seem to be friendly, we saw 2 just sit on the floor and play card games. They had a paper in between them that seemed to have the scoreboard.
Another thing I realized is, living in lavish, chaotic cities kinda makes you forget the simple things in life that give you joy. Whereas living in a cute city like Halifax or Calgary, makes you appreciate these simple things but not only that. I feel like people generally have better and healthier relationships in cities like Halifax and Calgary. They know how to make friends and get close to people.
the smaller the city the better the relationships?
While the communities in Toronto are unmatched(My Improv, Tech fest, and Running), I still find myself not excited to go back to a city that seems to socially isolated the general population.
Not only Toronto is diverse in culture, but it’s also diverse in the kind of people you can find. The spectrum is much wider than in Calgary or Halifax for e.g. And that’s the advantage of living there and that’s what made me fall in love with Toronto in the first place(being able to find communities that I can strongly bond with through ambition)
