Traveling with Companions
I’ve come to realize that traveling with someone—whether it’s a friend, partner, or even a stranger—greatly enhances the experience. Being able to share and exchange experiences with another person adds a unique dimension to the journey. Each of us experiences something, and sharing those impressions creates memories that are more vivid and meaningful.
Challenges of Solo Traveling
Although traveling alone has its perks of independence, it does come with challenges. To make the most out of it, I often try to connect with strangers to share the journey. However, this is a high-risk, high-reward scenario. There’s no guarantee I’ll find someone, and even if I do, there might be compatibility issues. This uncertainty makes me hesitant about solo traveling.
BUT, WHEN IT WORKS… IT WORKS OUT VERY WELL:
- The Denmark playground trip with Elvis
- Trip to Santa Monica n LA It didn’t work in Layover in Montréal
Eager for Shared Experiences
I’d love to travel to places like Southeast Asia, but the idea of doing so alone is not appealing. I prefer sharing these experiences with someone else, as it elevates the adventure. It may seem like I’m relying on having a companion, but the shared experience is enriching in ways I find indispensable.
Exceptions
- when I’m able to bond with the someone or something. E.g:
- bike
- payed 30 CAD to ride the bike during my Layover in Qatar for 40 mins
- generally wouldn’t say it’s worth it but in this case, it drastically switched my vibe and equipped me with an “experimenting”/“f*ck around and find out” mindset
- payed 30 CAD to ride the bike during my Layover in Qatar for 40 mins
- nature
- beach
- mountain
- forest
- snow
- the crowd
- an individual
- bike
- that power of connection and its impact on me can vary significantly
